1. ANYONE at ANYTIME may call a CEASE FIRE. If you see something or someone being unsafe, immediately call "Cease Fire".

2. IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY: call a "Cease Fire", and call 911 IMMEDIATELY, then call, if time and situation permit, the gun club at 830-265-4950, and/or the park rangers at 830-798-9434.

3. NO RAPID FIRING or holstered firearms on family ranges. Double taps are allowed on pistol ranges with 2 second between double taps. All other single shots to be 1 second apart. Rapid fire and tactical maneuvers permitted on the tactical ranges only.

4. You are entering private property. All entrants must always obey rules. We reserve the right to check firearms, to disarm you, refuse service, or remove anybody from club property. All firearms brought into the range must be completely UNLOADED & ACTIONS LOCKED OPEN, unless you are a Texas license to carry holder.  All ammunition must be inspected at the clubhouse prior to entering range.  See #12 for types of ammunition.

5. Safety glasses and ear protection are required to be worn by all shooters, spotters, or spectators always on all ranges. All ranges are shot fall areas.

6. Primary Gun Safety Rules:

  1. ALWAYS keep the gun pointed in a safe direction (down range).

  2. ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.

  3. ALWAYS keep the gun unloaded until ready to use at the firing line.

  4. ALWAYS transport firearms from vehicles to range in cases.

7. Secondary gun safety rules:

  1. Know your target and what is behind it.

  2. Be sure the gun is safe to operate.

  3. Know how to use the gun safely. (Load, handle, fire, unload and make the gun safe.)

  4. Use only the correct ammunition for the gun

  5. Never use alcohol or drugs before or while shooting

  6. Follow the instructions of the Range Safety Officers (RSO).

8. Firearm safety: If you are unsure about handling your firearm, you are required to be under direct supervision of an experienced instructor or attend a basic handgun class before shooting.

9. The Range Safety Officer on duty always oversees the ranges. Shooters must obey his/her directions.

 

10. Failure to cooperate with other shooters will not be tolerated. If there is no RSO on duty, it is up to those shooting to call cease fires, etc., in a cooperative manner.

11. 100 Yard Rifle Range Firearms Permitted : Black powder rifles, Rimfire,  centerfire ammunition rifles, Bull Pup Rifles 26” plus overall length,  shotguns with barrels over 18” firing slugs only.

: Rifles under 26” overall length ,  All short barreled rifles , All AR/AK Pistols , All rifles and pistols that fire pistol ammunition and Shotguns firing anything other than slugs.

Tactical Ranges Rapid Firing Automatic Firearms, Bump Stock, Binary Triggers, Forced Reset Triggers ,Gatling Gun, and Any simulated Automatic Fire of more than 6 rounds in  Succession without a pause between shall require the presence of a Range Employed Range Safety Officer at the cost of $50.00 per hour.

12. Ammunition Permitted: ALL SHOOTERS, to include members, are required to check their ammunition for compliance with the range staff at the clubhouse during operating hours. No calibers over .338, .338 allowed only on the 100 yard range  NOT on the long range steel targets..  Ammo permitted : All ammo that has  non magnetic projectiles. Ammo NOT permitted :  Steel core (penetrator),  Bi-Metal (Steel Jacket), tracer and incendiary . Shooters WILL be financially responsible for damages and/or loss of revenue caused by their actions. Shotguns with birdshot are allowed on the four clay ranges, tactical bays, and shotgun pattern ranges. Buck Shot and Slugs can be shot in tactical bays without steel targets. Slugs can be shot on the 100 yd rifle range.

13. Targets: Shoot at approved paper targets from behind the firing line. Shooting non-approved targets, target stands, sandbags, rocks, cans, bottles, etc. will result in removal of the shooter from the range and park, and a fine of $50.00 (this must be paid before coming back to the range). If in doubt about your target, ask before using. Shooting at signs, lights, yardage signs and target stands will be considered vandalism and charges may be filed in addition to park fines and loss of membership and/or park privileges. See item #15 for Steel Target Restrictions. Do not tamper with, fill or adjust clay throwers on any range. If there is a problem with a thrower contact the clubhouse or move on to another station.

14. 100 Yard Rifle Range: Targets must be placed on target stands between 25, 50 and 100 yards only on this range and all shots must hit only the back berm to avoid ricocheting. For a target less than 50 yards, use one of the 8’ target stands at 25 yards. Or contact an RSO for assistance.

15. Tactical Ranges: Pistols, Rifles and Shotguns may be used on the tactical bay. No buckshot or birdshot is permitted off the paper target backers.

Customer steel targets are permitted only in tactical bays 6 and 7. Must be set up in the front of the bay where the paper backers are. Firing line is to be 15 yards for handguns and from 85 yards for rifles.  Customer steel targets must not deflect rounds into adjacent ranges, or off the range.

 The ranges steel targets are in tactical bay 5. These are for handgun only. No “AR pistol” or PCC ‘s permitted.  Rifles can be shot off the paper backers in this bay. Shotgun ammunition size 6 through 9 are permitted off the steel targets.

 16. You may move the target stands on the pistol range but, be sure you know what is beyond your target and you are not engaging a second target stand and shoot through is hitting the back berm.

17. Make sure that all your rounds are hitting the berm at the rear of the range and not hitting the ground and ricocheting out of the range or shooting over the berms and out of the range and into the park. Therefore, targets placed on the ground are strictly prohibited. Please contact a RSO if you have any questions on this requirement or your shots are not hitting the back berm.

18. Unsafe behavior will not be tolerated. DO NOT touch firearms during a cease fire. Violating any of the safety rules will result in removal from the range until it is determined by an RSO, that the person has a good understanding of the rules, and the reasons for the rules. Repeated violation will result in Removal from the range and park (temporarily or permanently).

19. Alcohol, medications that impair judgment and illegal drug use are not permitted. If the RSO suspects, in the RSO’s sole and absolute discretion, a shooter to be under the influence, the shooter will be asked to leave. If violator is not fit to drive his/her vehicle we will call the police and violator will be charged with public intoxication.

20. Dangerous behavior: If the RSO determines a person’s behavior to be a danger or threat to others he may, at his/her discretion, take the person’s firearm(s), make them safe and temporarily

confiscate them. The RSO will then escort the person to the front gate of the park and at that time return the firearm(s) to the person. This will constitute permanent loss of privileges at the range. The RSO may also contact the BCSO to have a deputy come to the range and issue a trespass warning to the person.

21. There is no smoking on the firing line, the range or under the covered area. Smoking is permitted behind the covered area.

22. Protocol for putting up, scoring, taking down targets: Ranges may be hot or active for 15 minutes and cold or cease fire for 5 minutes.

Person wanting a cease-fire and/or cold range shall say:

  1. "Cease firing" or "Stop"

  2. "Unload"

  3. "Show clear"

  4. "Is the line clear on the right? On the left?" Everyone shows his/her neighbor on either side that the action is clear. When shown clear all shooters will respond:

  5. "The line is clear"

  6. "Move out of position” Everyone steps back behind the yellow line - ALL FIREARMS

ARE ON THE TABLE or remove to rifle stand. DO NOT TOUCH FIREARMS DURING A CEASE FIRE

  1. "Range Clear. Go forward, score targets, and paste". Go out to the range, score, paste put up/take down targets, and then return to the covered area.

When everyone is back to the covered area:

  1. "Police your firing point". Every one picks up their brass. If you reload your ammunition, you may take your brass with you. If not, please put it in the marked containers. Removing brass, other than your own, from the ranges may result in theft charges.

  2. "Back to the line"

  3. "Is the line ready?"

  4. If you are ready, then say "Ready", if not, then say "Not ready".

  5. If there is anyone not ready, the line will wait until that person (or persons) states "Ready".

  6. When everyone is ready, then: "Commence fire"

      

23. Waiver of liability: I understand and accept the range rules & polices and understand that I am entering a private shooting club at my own risk where I will encounter high levels of noise, the discharge of ammunition from firearms. I am entering this property at my own risk and I understand that hazards include flying bullets, flying debris, noise are potential hazards which may include injury or death.

24. I have read, agree and understand the rules, regulations and liability waiver and I hold Beneficial Consolidated Management, Inc., Copperhead Shooting Club, Hidden Falls Adventure Park, Bar 9.9,LP and West Grid Ranch, LLC, it’s heirs, employees, volunteers harmless from any claim to injury, death or financial compensation to myself, friends or relatives. I also agree to supervise and be responsible for any minor in my care while on the property.

25. I understand that firearms are inherently dangerous, and can injure, wound, maim, cause physical and/or mental impairment, and death, if handled improperly.

26. I certify that I am familiar with my firearm(s), and that I am able to load, handle, fire, unload and make safe my firearm(s). If I am unsure about my firearm(s), I will go over the proper operation (loading handling, firing, unloading and making safe) of my firearm(s) with a Range Safety Officer (RSO). I will bring the owner’s manual for my firearm(s) with me to the range.

27. I also authorize Beneficial Consolidated Management, Inc. (BCMI) to utilize photos and/or videos of me, my family and children for promotional use on BCMI’s web sites and/or marketing materials. This waiver is perpetual.
